Plano Magazine - Tricky Fish
Tricky Fish restaurant is a hybrid. Born of ideas that didn’t fit in anywhere else, it was meant to satisfy a market hungry for complex Creole flavors, while also satiating more delicate palates thirsty for mimosas and calamari. It’s a restaurant that isn’t afraid to step boldly into a saturated market of boring catfish and soggy hush puppies, cracking its knuckles and saying, “Let me show you how it’s done.”
Tricky Fish to swim into Fort Worth's Waterside development
If you're gonna have a development called Waterside, seafood should be involved, right? OK, maybe not. But in this case, it's going to happen.
Tricky Fish, which already has a location in Richardson, is coming to Waterside, the southwest Fort Worth development anchored by a Whole Foods Market. The "coastal & Cajun-inspired" restaurant is owned by Addison-based Razzoo's, which opened the first Tricky Fish in Richardson in November.
The news has actually been out there for a while, albeit a little under the radar (which is probably a good thing, since the original target date for opening was March). The restaurant is on the Waterside website with a "coming soon" designation.
Tricky Fish Introduces Brunch Menu
No city does food quite like New Orleans. True story: I made my husband eat 13 meals in a 3-day trip there last year. There are just so many great places and exciting dishes to try. Anytime I can find a taste of Cajun country closer to home I am on it. I've just gotta find those flavors and that soul!

No Tricks, All Treats at Tricky Fish
One unique feature of the service at Tricky Fish is that during the week, everyone is encouraged to order directly from the counter and the orders are delivered to customers at their table in an efficient amount of time. Their prime location keeps them mindful of the daily hustle and bustle of the corporate workers who occupy the space within the City Line complex, primarily State Farm and Raytheon employees. On the weekends, it's back to exceptional table side service as usual.
Dallas Off the Clock: Breakfast-Inspired Cocktails
Blossom, Tricky Fish – Richardson
If strawberry jam is your go-to breakfast condiment, try it in a cocktail. Bacardi Rum, lemon, berry blossom tea, and strawberry jam combine creating a simple, yet refreshingly sweet, brunch cocktail. This drink pairs well with any of the dishes on the new Tricky Fish brunch menu, but I really enjoyed having it with Andouille Hash & Eggs.
A Tricky Brunch
Nestled among the retail stores and restaurants lining State Street’s pristine pavement within Richardson’s sexy, new mixed-use community, City Line, there lies an unexpected early afternoon delight. When walking past the Tricky Fish, the last thing I would think is, “I bet this place has a good brunch.” It’s not that it’s unappealing; the location is perfect and the atheistic is mesmerizing.

The Tricky Fish Restaurant, located on State Street in the City Line development in Richardson Texas, is a nicely tucked away gem. The restaurant is all about Louisiana style food. Affordable Cajun Comfort Dining at Tricky Fish Richardson, TX
I have a new favorite restaurant in Dallas. Before I go into detail, I must remind you that 'favorite' is not a word I use frequently. However, Tricky-Fish is a restaurant that I just can't get enough of. I'm constantly looking for excuses to drive over to City-Line DFW or schedule lunch dates at the restaurant just so I can get my fix. The food is affordable, delicious, and the service is fast.
