Even if you are spending the holiday at home, there are ways you can make it memorable and fun! 1.  Get Dressed Up

So what if you are staying home? There is no better way to make the holiday feel special than to get dressed up in something fancy! There is absolutely nothing wrong with sweats or PJs on the couch, but a sparkly top or festive party attire can make any regular evening even more exciting. 

2.  Decorate

Nothing says “I’m having a party!” like a few décor pieces. Grab some inexpensive party balloons and other New Year’s themed props at your local party store. Since we opened our doors at Tricky Fish in 2016, the Tillamook Macaroni & Cheese has graced our menu and been met with the applause of many. We love that guests return time and time again and order this delectable comfort food. But why the popularity? What makes it so great? Here are a few thoughts on the matter…

It’s Tillamook After All.

Let’s face it. Tillamook is delicious. It’s stellar cheese, and it’s why we use it in our mac and cheese. Its creaminess when in melts and the pure intensity of the cheddar are both reasons why we love the flavor and texture it adds to our dish. Many customers rave that the creaminess of the dish is perfect, plus we add a little grated cheese on top to caramelize. Frankly, you had me at Tillamook. 

Cavatappi Pasta.

There is something about the noddle shape that can enhance a dish, and we definitely think this is true with our mac and cheese. We use cavatappi pasta; those fun, cylindrical corkscrew noodles that somehow find a way to lock-in all the flavors of the cheese. Plus – they are just fun to eat. 

Protein Optional.

Whether you are ordering our Tillamook Mac and Cheese on the side or as a full order, you have the choice of adding in protein. Many elect to add grilled chicken on top…or maybe you’re more of the grilled shrimp type. Either way, it’s absolutely delicious.

Mark Your Calendar Now: May Crawfish Boils at Tricky Fish!

The weather in North Texas has really warmed up this week, and we’re longing for those dog days of summer. But in the meantime, crawfish is in season, and we’re decided it’s time to let you in on a little secret: we’ll be hosting several crawfish boils, starting in May! We really can’t wait! 

Richardson Crawfish Boil

Bring the whole family and get excited about crawfish boils at Tricky Fish. Cajun food is in our roots. We’re distinctively southern and love the casual elegance of a summer crawfish boil. There’s just something about eating crawfish that brings people together, and we love being a part of that. 

Seafood Saturdays in May

We’ll just call every Saturday in May a 

“Seafood Saturday,” because each and every Saturday we’ll be hosting a crawfish boil! Hit the Tricky Fish patio between 5-7pm each Saturday and you’ll get a bucket of crawfish and a beer for just $15! And that’s any draft beer mind you, so order your favorite craft beer or local brew to accompany those tasty mudbugs. They’ll be available on a first come, first served basis, so get here early! 

How much is in a bucket? 

Each bucket is about 2 pounds of crawfish, but if that isn’t enough, you can re-up for more crawfish. We know they go fast! Just know – when they’re gone, they’re gone!

Hospital Treatment at NO Cost

One of the most wonderful things about St. Jude is that they are a no-cost facility, giving families the opportunity to focus on the needs of their child and getting him or her healthy, all without worrying about what it’s going to cost. 70% of the funding for St. Jude comes from everyday, individual donations, such as the funds we are raising this month at Tricky Fish.

Childhood Cancer & Disease Research

St. Jude is a renowned research hospital, researching cures and treatments for childhood disease and cancers for over 50 years. St. Jude is committed to finding a cure for cancer, and the work they are doing now is making a difference! Since they began researching a cure for cancer, the survival rate has risen to 80%! And the research doesn’t stay in-house. When discoveries are made, they are shared worldwide, which means donating to St. Jude leaves ripples that can be felt around the world.
